 August 2016

We are excited to announce our June 2016 recipient!  Bambi Forcey was nominated and chosen for her extraordinary efforts in our community.

Here is an excerpt from her nomination form.

Bambi Forcey is one of the hardest working, most involved persons that I have ever met. I would like to tell you a bit about some of the million things that she does that makes her so special. She is currently the Cameron Academy of Virtual Education Administrative Assistant. She takes this position above and beyond what is required. She often takes on very needy students and puts them under her wing. She is often the mother that many of them need. She often shows her "tough love" that they require, but come to love about her. She is truly amazing. Bambi is so involved with community activities. She is a member of the Living Waters Church. As a member she is involved with Ruby's Food Pantry and numerous other activities that give back to the community. She will even step up and sing in the choir when it is a little light. Bambi is involved with certifying and training most (if not all) of the lifeguards in Northwest Wisconsin. Many times she will volunteer her own time and talents training these people. Late nights are common for Bambi and her efforts to keep our pools and beaches safe. We should be very thankful for her passion and commitment to our surrounding communities. Finally, Bambi is involved with many of our local theater and other musical activities, including Cameron High School Forensics. She is strong believer in the arts and she has made many wonderful connections with our youth and adults alike. This is just a brief synopsis of why Bambi should be considered for this award. I am truly blessed to work with her and have the honor to nominate it for her.

We are excited to announce our August 2016 recipient!  Ken Keef was nominated and chosen for his extraordinary efforts in our community.

Here is an excerpt from his nomination form.

Ken Keef, as a member of the Cameron community and a custodial staff member at the Cameron School District, goes above and beyond volunteerism.  Kenny has for years led the charge for Camarama Days, a time consuming task, with little help from others beyond a team of approx. 4 to 6.  He believes in small town life and supporting it in any way that he can.  Ken also is there with a smile on his face and a positive attitude any time one needs a helping hand – whether it be to tidy up a mess at school, jump a dead battery in the parking lot, assist a stranded motorist as they passed through Cameron (yes, this happened several years ago) or deliver a yard of dirt for someone’s garden.  Ken is also a member of the Cameron volunteer fire department and has helped with numerous fund raisers and raffles for various causes in our community over the years.  Ken is the type of guy who would give the shirt off of his back to help another in need.
